Blogging is one way to help accelerate your job search. It allows you to share your perspectives with the world, while creating a personal brand in the process. And by blogging about topics that are relevant to your industry and market niche, you are also building expert status. In the blog post series dedicated to personal websites, it was recommended that a page on the website should be dedicated to blogging. If you have decided that a personal website is for you, and you want to have a blog, but not sure of where to find topics to blog about, then this article is for you.
Brainstorm: Grab a pen and notepad, then start writing down all the work-related questions that you are asked frequently. What issues are plaguing the industry? Are there impending legislations that will impact the industry? Who are five industry experts you can interview to find out which trends are likely to shape the industry? What are the best industry tools and resources? Out of this brainstorming activity, you will have topics to blog about for months. Use different formats such as podcasts, videos, and print for blog posts. Additionally, the blog post could be a case study or a question and answer format.
